Mr. & Mrs. Mahi’s upcoming movie is a romantic sports drama film produced by Zee Studios and Dharma Productions, and directed by Sharan Sharma.The film was announced in November 2021, but filming took place from May 2022 to May 2023. The film is scheduled to release on 31 May 2024.
Mr. & Mrs. Mahi: Synopsis
Mahender is a failed cricketer, and Mahi is a doctor. Both of them get arranged marriages. Because both of them have the same surname “Mahi”, they are called Mr. And Mrs. Mahi. They soon discover her love and passion for cricket, Mahender ji sees cricket talent in his wife, which leads him to encourage her to become a cricketer and train her in this journey.
When Mahendra saw cricket talent in his wife, he encouraged her to play cricket and became her coach. He said, “It is not about the result but about the process. If you go about your process with sincerity and hard work, the results will be seen in the end and even if you fail, it doesn’t matter.’ This film has been made along the lines of Mahendra Singh Dhoni, I hope we will respect his philosophy.”

The movie here is based on a true incident. Great director and filmmaker Karan Johar has recently announced this movie. Cricket watchers will be pleased to know that the movie here is based on the real life of former Indian captain MS Dhoni. This Bollywood film stars actor Rajkumar Rao and actress Janhvi Kapoor.
Mr. & Mrs. Mahi: Release date
The film was initially announced for release on 7 October 2022 but was postponed. Then it was announced to be released on 15 March 2024 and then on 19 April 2024, but it was postponed again. Finally set to release theatrically on 31st May 2024.
Mr and Mrs Mahi’s first song ‘Dekhha Tenu’
The first song of Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s upcoming film “Dekha Tanu” was launched on Wednesday. In the song, we see the two fall in love and eventually get married, pursuing their relationship along with their passion for cricket.
Fans of Hindi movies will instantly recognize this song, which was first shown in ‘Se Shava Shava’ by Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. Here the song ‘Se Shava Shava’, composed by Srivastava, with lyrics by Sameer and voices of Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik, was very much liked at that time. Now this new song has been composed by Jani, in which the lyrics are by him and the voice is by Mohammad Faiz.

Mr. & Mrs. Mahi Movie Update
Another exciting update has come out for all the fans of Janhvi Kapoor. A short video from her upcoming Mr and Mrs Mahi movie has been uploaded on Instagram, which shows Janhvi putting her heart and soul into learning cricket to play the character of Mahima in the movie. In the video, director Sharan Sharma said “I think when Janhvi came into this film, she thought, ‘Yes Gunjan (Saxena) has worked hard too. ‘’
The filmmaker has also talked about the physical challenges faced by Janhvi Kapoor during the shooting of the film. He said, “So, we found out that she has something called MDI, which is multidirectional instability, which is great for dancers, but not so good for cricketers. So now, in two months, he has ruptured ligaments in his left and right shoulder. And now, we get to a place, where we say, ‘Okay, how do we make this movie?’ But I think we made a wise decision to do all the right rehabilitation and give him as much time as possible to recover from the injury.”
Jhanvi has also shared her experience during her work time. “It was a challenge, but a fun challenge,” he said. So I was like it’s gonna be like how different can it be? This was different. Nothing could prepare me. I am the most unathletic, non-sporty person on the planet.
Janhvi mam was injured twice during the film shooting, on which she said, “The first injury was due to inside-out. The second happened while I was hitting the switch. Kadak (sound) (pointing towards shoulder) came up again and I put it back and I was in shock. I was like, this can’t happen again…I wouldn’t say that everything was going smoothly. It was a little unsettling, especially because the physicality of it was also mentally very draining and taxing.”
Abhishek Nair also shared his experience and how he worked “hard” to play this role. He said, “We had gone to Baroda for a camp. We were there for 6 days of camp, then Dinesh was also with us. So, we got a lot of experience working with some of these international cricketers, understanding their body language and their movements. From small things like how they move, how they tap, how they deal with their guard. In terms of training, I think it was as rigorous as anyone would have done when they were preparing for the IPL, if not more.”
